Reproductive Justice Reunion World Tour, by Hazel Green

This linocut piece was created to honor the 30th anniversary of the Reproductive Justice movement, as defined by its originators. The poem accompaniment is for the Queer Ancestors Project gallery on July 14th. If you'd like an original print, they will be on sale at the show, at GreenTShop.com or wherever you see me vending!

Reproductive Justice Reunion World Tour ‘24, by Hazel Green

Birthed from 12 queer Black Womanists

Say their names, a star studded lineup of grit

Black Feminisms questioned, a reverence missed

For their identities, woven from heritage

Lived experiences etched a line in the Cohambee River sand

In '94, they boldly declared where we stand

At the International Conference, on Cairo's land

Against U.S. patriarchal politics' oppressive hand

A human right, inherent, unbound by place

To bear them or not to bear children, with grace

To parent in safe, sustainable communities

Leading families to thrive in purposeful unity

For thirty plus years, they've held the light

Reproductive rights and  justice in sight

A call to fidelity, not just admiration,

In service to the global quest for liberation.
