If I neglect my creativity too much, I get stir crazy. The canvas was calling me! I was inspired by the PanAfrican flag with its red, black and green colors. I love acrylic pouring. So, I took this opportunity to practice with my friend, RAD Unlimited. Originally, I did this series to commemorate each day of Kwanzaa. Check out the Kwanzaa Starter Kit blog I wrote last year for specifics on the holiday. Now, I want to create a new piece on every freedom holiday for folks in the African diaspora (Juneteenth, Haitian Revolution, etc).
Celebrate in your own way! Engage with me, send feedback and I hope you enjoy.

"RBGranite"
Red and green bring feelings of warmth and growth. Their placement connects to ideas like confidence and optimism, solidifying positive outcomes.
Kujichagulia- Self Determination
"Poinsettia"
A holiday plant but the flower is us. Lined in gold and blended to fill the canvas, the contrast of colors creates magic. They all help this win.
Ujima- Collective work & Responsibility
"Protection"
Green is for the land, the abundant natural wealth we stand on. Hiding, peeking, expanding out of their corners is life. When we protect our Earth, she flourishes for us.
Ujamaa- Cooperative Economics
"I-Land"
Our identity exists beyond binaries. Spectrums of light/dark, femininity/masculinity, self/sub/false consciousness. I wonder to which shades should we aspire?
Nia- Purpose
"Tectonic"
Royal clarity, royal blood. The gold jumps off the canvas, but those black outlined circles are granular like lava rocks. This piece is your profit
Kuumba- Creativity
"Cell Bio"
A seed, an idea, a child can change the world. This piece screams reinvention and life in the future.
Imani- Purpose
"Poured Out"
We take with us the warmth of love and the bounty of growth. The white emptiness of the spaces between illuminate the culmination of color that is us.
